The Lost Sheep

The Lost Sheep

The parable of the lost sheep is a story that Jesus told in Luke 15:1-7 in the New Testament of the Bible. In this story, Jesus teaches us about the love of God and the importance of each and every individual.

The story goes like this: A shepherd had 100 sheep, but one of them went missing. The shepherd left the 99 sheep behind and went out to search for the lost sheep. After searching for a while, he found the lost sheep and joyfully carried it back to the flock.

Here are some important teachings we can learn from this story:

  1. God loves each and every one of us. The shepherd in the story represents God, who loves each of us and desires to bring us back into his fold.

  2. No one is too far gone to be found. The lost sheep in the story represents those who have wandered away from God. The story reminds us that no one is too far gone for God to find and bring back into his family.

  3. God rejoices when we are found. When the shepherd found the lost sheep, he rejoiced and celebrated. Similarly, when we turn back to God, there is great rejoicing in heaven.

  4. We should reach out to those who are lost. The shepherd in the story did not give up on the lost sheep, but went out to search for it. Similarly, we should reach out to those who are lost and help bring them back to God.

In conclusion, the parable of the lost sheep teaches us about the love of God and the importance of each individual. No matter how lost we may feel, God loves us and desires to bring us back into his fold. Similarly, we should reach out to those who are lost and help bring them back to God.
